New Blog

Hey!

I wonder how many of my students from Meiji University are still looking at this blog.

Now I have a new one, for my class at Truckee Meadows Community College. It mostly
has outlines for homework assignments but if you are curious, take a look!

Hot August RENO

Hi Students! How are you? Are you enjoying summer vacation? Where are you? What are you doing?

I am busy with getting ready for fall semester: two jobs plus school, finding an apartment ... if you want to learn more, just go to my personal blog: www.tokyosummer-meema.blogspot.com.

August is very hot in Reno; right now it's 102 degrees! That's 39 degrees in Celsius ... HOT. Fortunately, it's a dry heat because Reno is in the desert up in the mountains. It cools down a lot in the evenings, as well.

Hot August Nights is a classic car show that brings thousands of classic American cars to Reno. I thought you would like to see photos of these beautiful cars. Next month, Reno hosts the Reno Rodeo; a total COWBOY experience! I am going to take lots of photos so you can see what real cowboys look like. Enjoy ... :)

Hey, can someone please send me the photos from the climbing gym? Thanks!

Leaving On A Jet Plane- John Denver

All my bags are packed
Im ready to go
Im standin here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye
But the dawn is breakin
Its early morn
The taxis waitin
Hes blowin his horn
Already Im so lonesome
I could die

So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that youll wait for me
Hold me like youll never let me go
cause Im leavin on a jet plane
Dont know when Ill be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go

Theres so many times Ive let you down
So many times Ive played around
I tell you now, they dont mean a thing
Evry place I go, Ill think of you
Evry song I sing, Ill sing for you
When I come back, Ill bring your wedding ring

So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that youll wait for me
Hold me like youll never let me go
cause Im leavin on a jet plane
Dont know when Ill be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go

Now the time has come to leave you
One more time
Let me kiss you
Then close your eyes
Ill be on my way
Dream about the days to come
When I wont have to leave alone
About the times, I wont have to say

Oh, kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that youll wait for me
Hold me like youll never let me go
cause Im leavin on a jet plane
Dont know when Ill be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go

But, Im leavin on a jet plane
Dont know when Ill be back again
Oh babe, I hate to go

Summertime!

This is the music video for "Summertime" by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince. The Fresh Prince is Will Smith. He was a rapper before he became a TV and movie star. This video is so good! It shows many classic summertime activities: cruising in cars, bar-be-ques, family reunions, kids playing, girls doing double-dutch, dancing in the streets at block parties ... it's a great example of what summertime in the U.S. is all about! Enjoy!

English Club!

Some of the English Challenge students asked about learning English online. Naturally, nothing can replace authentic interactions with native speakers, but ...
